Dear friends
Lilian was awarded to the hospital this afternoon. Her scan has revealed that there are more tears in the aorta than the doctors would like to see. She is scheduled for a major operation on 29 June. This means she may have to have her operation earlier. She asks for prayer for the doctors to know what to do. She has been in and out of the hospital a few times already within the past three weeks!
Please keep her in prayer. Pass the word around for prayer.
Cheers

Dear Friends
I just spoke with Lilian just now. Sadly, her Mar fan symptom has affected one of her kidneys. The implication being, she has effectively lost one kidney already. The doctor is giving her pain killer and antibiotics to treat it .
The new dissection and blood clot will complicate her aorta replacement surgery. One possible outcome of her surgery will be that she will be on dialysis or even paralyzed.
She requests prayer from all of you.
Cheers

Dear Partners in Ministry, we are at a church retreat this week.
Good morning...
At my QT yesterday morning, God said to me... "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27). Here, I reminded... Our Almighty God, who laid the foundation of the world is STILL in control. Hallelujah...
I tnk God in every remembrance of Lilian ...from Seminary days, I always amazed how she can read a book so fast, its like we have 4 books to read and Lilian will only be like reading two! Lilian "helped" me sat thru many classes in BTS (Calvary & Cambridge), keeping me awake when I get bored ...and we would wink at each across the table ...Lilian, "muackz!"
Sitting here, writing ...these thots brought me back to our memorable Cambridge times ...when we walk tog and with the students for our lunch and coffee-break at the "peh-kio" market :) And one day, Lilian and myself decide to go for Kopi in Orchard after class ...and we went with red "cub-chai" ...my 70cc Honda cub to Tang's -hahaha, we have to turn into Tang's cos we need to buy a T-shirt, we were all drenched ;> LOL!!
Elijah HoweSeng & myself always think that we had the BEST teachers in our times at the BTS ...they taught well & played well too! We have great times playing basket-ball with them during Retreats; my boys arm-wrestled with their uncle Roger Capps... and STILL talked about it today with their friends ...how strong this closed to 70 years old uncle (now 70 liao) is so fit ...jogging about 8km a day!! (Roger inspired them to keep fit for Jesus! -- bcos uncle Roger keep fit for Jesus, they say!!!! We held BD parties for our Profs; and Profs for us -making out lyrics of each students and sang to us (should see pic taken during those days). And Gerald Wright thot me Worship :p And Janice, tnk you for believing in me ...I love our "Ruth play"; And Sid Schmidt for the "A" for my Admin Class - LOL; And Danny Chia for the enjoyable Greek -tat I never did pass (Jason, u went for it -LOL!!) ...dear Profs, you are all just so awesome!! Who say Christians are boring people ...and attending BTS or Seminary is boring -hahaha!
We are praying for you, Dr Lilian Lim. Praying that the Mar fan symptom will not be too "ma-fun" after all that you need to do at the hospital.
....morning worship is about to start. GTG...
Lilian...hang-in there! Love yooooou... as always!!!!

Hi Mabel
I am Lindsay. Her status is that she has lots more blood clots along aorta. One kidney is damaged and right leg also affected by clot.
This is the latest from Lilian. The doctor who last operated on her is away till June 21. They will move her op forward when fever subsides. Pray for doc to figure out what causes fever. Pray that she will continue to have a positive spirit, which is the most important part of the fight now!
Thanks for praying,
Lindsay

Today's Update
Her original scheduled operation is supposed to be on the 29th of June.
Looks like the doctors are going ahead to do the operation sooner than later
after 21st. Her heart surgeon is away and no one wants to make a decision.
She is running a high fever and they are trying to get the temperature down.
The prayer for her is to help the doctors determine the cause of the fever
and the wisdom to know what to do and how to do the operation.
Cheers

Today's Update:
They did further testing. For the time being he damaged kidney will not be
but stay status quo. She feels encouraged when that the kidney doctor told
her that many survive long with even one kidney. They are testing to make
sure the other kidney functions well. Her fever is subsiding and the cause
could be her damaged kidney. Everyone is waiting for her heart surgeon to
return and examine her and make the final decision to operate on her. She is
having a team of doctors working on her case.
Continue to pray for the doctors to know what to do and how to do and for
Lilian's spirit . What has been a source of great encouragement to her
spiritually and emotionally has been to know that many of people around the
world are praying for her! Thanks to BMN for his effective dissemination of
information.
Keep praying

Dearly leaders and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ,
I was about to leave the church office to visit our dear sister Lillian at SGH when I received the news that she just suffered a stroke. Please uphold her in fervent faithful prayers. Her condition is rather serious as she has a number of tears on her aorta and also her right kidney was damged and maybe rendered useless by a blood clot. She was supposed to be operated on 29th June but this emergency may need her to be operated very urgently except that her heart specialist is out of town on holidays. Let us pray and trust God for His merciful hand upon her. Let us join hands and hearts and stand in the gap on our dear sister's behalf. I am rushing to the SGH now. Thanks and God bless.

Dear Johnson,
Thanks for the updates. I guess you must be out of your house when I sent an urgent email to our church members, the Singapore Baptist Convention as well as the BTS after receiving news of Lillian's stroke from her sister-in-law. We also must have missed each other at SGH as I was at the hospital from 12-1.15 pm. Her brother, a Senior Consultant and Head of the Urologist department was there after we saw her. He saw the scan which confirmed that she had a stroke as her brain is bleeding. That's why her left eye was painful and her eyesight affected. He said it was rather large, but not life threatening at the moment. I told him I did not reveal to her that she had a stroke in order not to discourage her. She was rather dopey! He then said that the neurologists are looking at her now and then determine the next step. I guess we can only depend on our Great Physician now. I am sure Lillian and her family appreciate all that you are doing for her. Take care and God bless.

Everything is status quo. The good thing is that though the bleeding is not
life threatening as shared by Rev Edwin Lam. Thanks
Please continue to pray. For those of you who are from abroad, owing to the
N1H1 Virus, no visitors are allowed unless your names (max 6) are on the
nominated list. Rev Alan leong rang me up and said he and his wife Yvonne
went to the hospital yesterday but were refused entry. Alan brought oil to
pray for her.
Keep on praying.

A RAY of HOPE
Dear Friends
Today I bring you some good news. In spite of the large bleeding behind her
brain, she is able to talk and recognize visitors. Lilian's best friend
Jenifer from Cincinnati who flew here just to spend time with her visited
here just now. She said, "the doctors were amazed that in spite of her
large bleeding and stroke she can still move her arm!" Obviously, they do
not know WHOM they are dealing with!
Right now what they are trying to do is to stop the bleeding.
Lilian said what she needs most is rest and prayers . So let's keep
praying. Tomorrow over here is Sunday. As we worship Him, remember Lilian in
prayer.
Cheers

P/s Those of you who are on this list are some of her most treasured
friends. Note the orange code has been changed back to a Green Code

MORNING UPDATE (21 June, 8.03 am)
Yesterday, Lilian's friend Jennifer visited her and said she looked better
and was able to dink juice though her condition is still the same.
Her heart surgeon will be seeing her this week. Originally, her scheduled
aorta operation is supposed to be on the 29th June which needs to be done
because the aorta has stretched beyond the point of normalcy.
However, with those complications arising (massive blood bleeding behind the
brain, one damaged kidney and her stroke) the team of doctors need "divine
wisdom to know" how to proceed from here what to do , and what to do first.
Jennifer also said that the mention of people all over the globe praying for
her made her feel very encouraged and gave her hope in spite of her
condition. As prayer partner, you have given her great hope.
At yesterday's Sunday's service, Queenstown Baptist Church divided everyone
into groups of two to pray specifically for her led by Pastor Lawrence. To
hear a chorus of sincere and heartfelt prayers ascending to heaven, the
feeling I got is that even the most solid and bolted door of heaven is no
defense for such prayer bombardment!
Our prayer for her this morning is for "divine wisdom" from above and
"practical wisdom" from here for this team of doctors which they
desperately need because at this point they are all groping for answers and
no one dares to make a decisive decision.
Keep praying.
Cheers

AFTERNOON UPDATE (22 June, 3.15pm)
This latest update (good news) comes from someone special and close to
Lilian. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church who loves the Lord and
very dedicated to His cause. Thanks Alfred for this update knowing how
busy you are in your work. Let us rejoice that God has many people like
him in the Baptist community.
I visited Lilian today at noon. She has improved as compared to my last
visit on Friday. She is able to communicate and pray with me today. The
hospital has started soft foods for her so that she could be stronger and be
ready for any surgery if required. Her surgeon saw her and decided to delay
her surgery until she is stronger. The doctors are trying to solve the
problem of her stroke suffered last week before deciding whether to go ahead
with any surgery. Please note that the hospital has transferred her to
second floor ward 52 ( Neurology ICU ward) for further checks. Please
continue to upon Lilian in your prayer.
Thank you. God bless.
Best Regards,
Alfred Tan
