Dearly Beloved Friends
This comes from Rev Richard Loh (Pastor of Queenstown Baptist Church.
Visited her yesterday and we still shared many of her desires for ABGTS and she even insist to pray for my family. Also met up Jennifer. We never know what God's plan is for her but until the last minute, we lift up our cries to the Lord.
This afternoon, Alfred Tan visited her in the hospital at about 2pm. Her face lighted up and she looked fine and was able to converse. Alfred prayed with her and she prayed for Alfred and his family and children and grandchildren. Alfred was very touched. True to her character she was ministering to Alfred through prayer. Indeed she is an intercessor. She clasped Alfred's hand tightly. Significantly, Alfred was the last person to see her conscious.
Then at 3 pm or thereafter, her blood circulation crashed sending her into a coma. According to her doctor brother, the blood clot must have entered her heart.
By her side were her family members arriving one by one tearing.
Her beloved Pastor Rev Edwin Lam ( Calvary Baptist Church) whom Lilian loves and speaks highly of, the Executive Director Peter Tang of the Singapore Baptist Convention (deacon and member of Calvary Baptist Church ), and a few committee members. Alfred Tan came back later to see Lilian again.
Her best friend from Singapore Lee Pheng was by her side. So was Rev John Yuen (Pastor of Evangel Baptist Church), Rev Elijah leong and his wife (Pastor of Jesus' Disciples Baptist Community Church) Pastor Mei Ming (Leng Kwang Baptist Church) and I. Everyone was tearing. At this time she was already unconscious and hooked to a respirator. She could hear but not respond. At different turns, each one touched her forehead and said some words to her. I believe she heard them.
It is with deep sadness that I share this news: Dr Lilian at about 7.52 pm has departed to be with the Lord. She will be sorely missed because of who she is, what she stands for and how she treats people. In sum , a lady who always thinks of others.
Note: Lilian was born with a congenital disease.
This year she told me a few times that she could be taken home by the Lord any time (premonition?).
She did her best to do all that she could for ABGTS as the President.
God has enabled her to live this long in spite of her congenital disease.
God has enabled her to finish some great work for ABGTS (though some more needs to be done) ,
She was able to celebrate her 50th birthday with a few of us.
She saw her good friend Jennifer and spent some quality time with her.
She had the opportunity hear "The tribute" written in her honour and she smiled and said "Good!"
So dear Lilian, we do not say Good bye to you but rather Good night because we shall certainly see you again Some Day.
Till we meet again up there, Enjoy heaven.
Cheers
From all of us who truly love you.
We offer our deepest condolences to the family members and pray for God's peace to be upon all of you during this time of grieving.
